Conservation Ecologist Position

The position involves leading habitat regeneration activities, including site preparation, planting, weed control and maintenance.
- Lead ecological restoration activities across various sites.
- Undertake restoration work according to best practice and occupational health and safety requirements.
- Plan, prepare, promote and deliver volunteer days and citizen science projects.
- Build and maintain partnerships and manage staff, contractors, schedules and reporting requirements.
This role combines field-based ecological restoration with community engagement and project management responsibilities.
About the RoleKey tasks include:
- Coordinating habitat restoration projects and initiatives.
- Developing and implementing project plans and schedules.
- Leading teams of contractors and volunteers in restoration work.
- Monitoring and evaluating project progress and outcomes.
Requirements for the role include:
- 5+ years' experience in ecological restoration or a related field.
- Strong plant identification skills and knowledge of restoration principles.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating projects, staff, contractors and volunteers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with stakeholders.
