About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled professional to contribute to our research team focused on aquatic ecosystem conservation and management.
The successful candidate will have expertise in river and wetland ecology, with experience in fish surveys, field work, data management, and report writing.
In this role, you will participate in fish and fish-habitat monitoring, evaluation, and reporting. You will also collaborate with multi-disciplinary research teams and contribute to advice, reports, scientific articles, conference presentations, and other communication outputs.
Essential Requirements
- A science degree with relevant work experience in aquatic ecology
- High level of competency in freshwater and estuarine fish identification and survey techniques
- Ability to plan and manage conservation and ecology surveys and projects in the field and office
- Postgraduate qualification in science or natural resource management with a focus on aquatic ecology
- Knowledge of riverine, estuarine, and wetland ecosystems, their biota, and their conservation management
