Exciting Opportunity for an ICT Infrastructure Engineer

Essential Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of IT infrastructure elements and their interactions.
  • Virtualization Expertise: Familiarity with virtual machines and hypervisors (e.g., VMware, Nutanix).
  • Network Management: Proficient in network protocols, routing, wireless technologies, switching, and firewall setups.
  • Demonstrated Experience: Several years in IT infrastructure positions with a solid history of overseeing intricate IT environments.
  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience with systems such as: Microsoft Windows Server, Linux servers, Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, Amazon AWS, Microsoft 365 Administration (including Exchange online and hybrid setups), Microsoft Active Directory management (with a focus on security management via Group Policy Objects), Hyper-V, Microsoft Exchange Server, Fortinet, PowerShell, and Commvault. Experience in large storage environments is also essential.
  • ITIL Framework: Familiarity with ITIL principles and practices.
  • Information Security: Experience in administration, compliance, and the development, testing, and implementation of business continuity and disaster recovery strategies. Knowledge of network security, wireless security, application security, infrastructure hardening, security baselines, web server, and database security is crucial.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vendor Relations: Experience in managing partnerships with hardware and software vendors.
  • Independent Work: Capability to operate with minimal supervision and efficiently manage a medium-sized computer network.
  • Ability to work autonomously while effectively overseeing a medium-sized computer network.

Location: Canberra Based

Security Clearance Required: Must be an Australian Citizen and eligible for NV1 Clearance.

Contract Duration: 12 Months with the possibility of a 12-month extension.
