About the Role

The Integrated Operations (IO) team at BHP Western Australia Iron Ore manages the Iron Ore supply chain through scheduling, forecasting, deviation management, controlling, and inventory accounting across mine, rail, and port operations. The team focuses on safety, dedication, innovation, and values to execute and improve productivity, safety, and environmental impact.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Mining & Technical Document Governance Specialist to play a key role in enabling strong alignment between Production Scheduling and stakeholders by developing, organizing, and writing relevant documentation to support the delivery of high-quality mine designs and plans to safely execute.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop strategies to transform mining technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly technical documents.
  • Support the Production Scheduling critical risk management process through the connection and alignment of different procedures and documents.
  • Gather information from subject-matter experts to develop, organize, and write a variety of technical documents, including Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Quick Reference Guides, and other technical documentation to support mine planning and execution activities.
  • Review, analyze, and organize complex technical information into clear, concise, and readable documents.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards, establishing and adhering to style guidelines; ensuring technical accuracy and document completeness.
  • Develop internal scheduling and tracking systems to control critical document updates and ownership.
  • Use the BOS methodology to support 5S process for relevant Production Scheduling documents.
About You
  • Previous exposure to mining-related processes, mine planning technical processes, routines, and software.
  • Good understanding of mine design, scheduling, and mining execution processes.
  • Ability to evaluate and analyze complex information and a natural desire to help people understand it.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver high-quality work.
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and explain them clearly.
