About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Transport for NSW. As a key member of our Maintenance and Delivery team, you will play a crucial role in delivering road and traffic infrastructure and maintenance projects in the Upper Hunter region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage nominated projects, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and budget adherence.
  • Provide technical advice and solutions to project teams, analyzing complex problems and driving innovation.
  • Lead a blue-collar workforce through direct delivery arrangements, fostering a safety-first culture and driving improvements.
  • Procure and oversee service providers, monitoring and reviewing work programs to optimize resource utilization and achieve project objectives.
  • Prepare contract documents, including technical specifications, to engage, administer, and deliver contract works efficiently.
About You

We are looking for a strong communicator with self-motivation, able to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic on-site team environment. You will have tertiary qualifications in civil engineering and experience in the design, construction, inspection, and maintenance of pavement, road, and earthworks infrastructure. Your expertise in preparing estimates, job programs, project delivery briefs, and WH&S management plans is essential. You will be a proactive analytical thinker with high-level communication skills, able to manage time effectively and work collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver projects safely and efficiently.
