About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Legal Officer to join our team at Karlka Recruiting Group. As a key member of our legal team, you will provide specialist legal advice on transaction documents, construction contracts, and other complex legal matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-standard legal services independently, with a focus on construction law.
  • Act as the expert on construction contracts, providing guidance and support to senior executives and staff.
  • Deliver solutions-focused legal services within tight timeframes, managing competing stakeholder priorities.
  • Supervise and mentor junior lawyers, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality legal services.
  • Develop relationships with government leaders and stakeholders, providing expert legal advice and guidance.
  • Update contracting platform documents regularly, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Conduct workshops, training, and briefing sessions, providing expert knowledge and guidance to staff.
  • Manage external lawyers and counsel, ensuring the delivery of high-quality legal services.
Requirements
  • Expertise in construction law is a requirement, with a strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Ideal candidates will possess experience in governance, administrative law, or policy making and legislative process.
  • Understanding of government policy development and decision-making processes is ideal.
  • Admitted or eligible for admission as a Solicitor or Barrister in the Supreme Court of NSW.
  • Eligible to hold a NSW Practising Certificate.
