As a Master, you will take charge of the vessel and crew, leading by example :

  • ">
  • Take command of the tug and manage the crew to ensure safe, efficient operations.">
  • Coordinate crew attendance, stores provisioning, and maintain operational readiness.">
  • Ensure compliance with policies, statutory obligations, and safety management systems.">
  • Manage crew discipline, supervise tug maintenance, and prepare operational reports.">
  • Conduct inductions, mentor crew members, and support skills training and development.">
  • Participate in safety training and operational improvement initiatives while adhering to roster and standing orders.">

To thrive in this role, you'll bring :

  • ">
  • A minimum Master qualification">
  • A Long Range Operator Certificate of Proficiency (LROCP) or equivalent">
  • Statements of Attainment in Provide First Aid (HLTAID003) and CPR (HLTAID001)">
  • A current AMSA Medical and a valid MSIC or ability to obtain one">
  • Prior experience as a vessel Master is essential for ensuring safe and efficient operations">
  • Proven ability to lead a team effectively, fostering a collaborative and safety-focused work environment">
  • Effective communication through both verbal and written channels, ensuring clear and concise information is conveyed">
  • A calm and clear thinker who can make good decisions under pressure, especially in challenging or emergency situations">
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, coupled with efficient fault-finding to address challenges effectively">
  • Comfortable with technology, including basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office tools">
