Payroll Officer Position

This is a permanent, full-time position that requires the candidate to oversee the processing and validation of payroll transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legislative and industrial requirements.
- Interpret regulatory frameworks, award conditions, and departmental policies to resolve queries and anomalies with authoritative expertise.
- Serve as a key liaison point between Payroll Services and internal/external stakeholders, including leaders and external agencies.
- Mentor and support payroll officers, contributing to staff capability through coaching, guidance, and knowledge sharing.
- Conduct payroll audits and implement internal controls to maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with audit and regulatory standards.
- Support system upgrades and improvements by collaborating with IT and HR teams, contributing to testing, feedback, and change management initiatives.
The ideal candidate will possess experience in using HR information systems and strong leadership skills. They will be able to interpret complex regulations and policies, and provide guidance and support to colleagues. The role demands exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
