Security Guard Role

This position involves safeguarding museum artifacts and display areas, providing information to visitors, and supporting staff as needed.

  • Protect the art, building, staff, and visitors by enforcing safety guidelines.
  • Offer professional and courteous assistance to visitors about the museum facility.
  • Assist MTHS staff in matters affecting the collection or facility.
  • Conduct regular physical inspections of grounds and buildings before opening hours.
  • Activate and monitor alarm systems, and investigate accidents and document safety hazards.
Requirements:
  • Ability to act calmly and authoritatively in emergency situations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of proper use of security equipment.
  • Familiarity with CPR/AED/First Aid.
  • Current, valid driver's license; basic computer skills and Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency.
