Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinician to provide trauma-informed, holistic client-centred intake, assessment and brief intervention services to vulnerable individuals.

Maintaining currency of knowledge regarding DVA matters, Open Arms policies, and adhering to related policies and risk escalation, reporting and documentation procedures is essential for success in this role.

  • Foster high-level written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with clients.
  • Exercise sound judgment and respond to critical incidents in a calm and timely manner.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in IT skills to navigate equipment and software efficiently.

Mandatory requirements include currently holding or ability to obtain a Working with Vulnerable People registration and currently holding or ability to obtain a Working with Children check.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting clinically appropriate intake assessments and documentation with formulated risk assessments that are tailored, appropriate, and actioned in accordance with presenting risk.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, families, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support.

This role requires a high level of autonomy, flexibility, and adaptability. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a relevant qualification in a field such as social work, psychology, or nursing.
  • Possess current registration with the relevant professional body.
  • Have experience working with vulnerable populations.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of trauma-informed care principles.
