Environmental Researcher: Shape the Future of Sustainability

Transforming raw potential into real progress requires innovative minds. As an Environmental Research Scientist, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of sustainability with world-changing innovations and low-carbon technologies.

This is a rare opportunity to work on applied ecological research that directly informs and improves environmental outcomes across mining operations. Reporting to the Environmental Research Manager, you'll collaborate with external research partners to co-design studies that meet end-user needs. Your findings will influence operational practices and drive ecological innovation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, monitor, analyse, and write up field trials to improve environmental performance.
  • Engage and communicate with scientific networks, sharing findings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to broader research initiatives, such as rehabilitation implementation, native plant production, fauna interactions with forest and rehabilitation areas, and studies related to soil and water dynamics.
Requirements:
  • PhD or Masters by Research in Ecology or Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Flora research experience with a keen knowledge of flora.
  • Ability to translate research findings into management improvements.
  • Background in mining rehabilitation with GIS knowledge desirable.
  • Strong communication skills including delivering presentations, publishing reports and papers.
