The role involves leading field surveys, managing projects, and writing technical reports in the field of flora and vegetation.
Undertake comprehensive detailed flora and vegetation surveys, targeted significant species surveys, technical reporting, and impact assessments.
As part of the Flora and Vegetation Team, you will:
- Undertake flora and vegetation surveys, including targeted surveys, in a range of remote and diverse environments across Western Australia.
- Analyse ecological data and prepare clear, concise technical reports.
- Liaise with technical and subject matter experts.
- Prepare proposals, budgets and tender documents.
- Receive mentoring to develop your technical skills further, driving your career progression.
- Expand your knowledge across various disciplines including terrestrial fauna, aquatic and marine ecology, mine closure, remote sensing, and environmental approvals.
To be successful in the role you will need:
- Tertiary qualification in biological or environmental science, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of two years related experience in undertaking flora and vegetation surveys, ideally with an environmental consultancy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical reporting skills.
- The desire and ability to undertake field work.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and embrace innovation.
- Taxonomic experience will be seen as beneficial but not essential.
