Poultry Technician Job Description

As a skilled and experienced Poultry Technician, you will provide technical expertise in poultry production to produce high-quality eggs and meat.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Selects and purchases healthy poultry stock
  • Administers effective feeds and water supplies for optimal growth
  • Ensures proper disinfection processes are implemented for poultry houses, cages, and nests
  • Manages vaccination programs for the poultry flock to maintain health and safety
  • Conducts regular inspections to dispose of or segregate infected poultry
  • Cultivates, inspects, and packages eggs while selecting and preparing pullets and fryers for shipment
  • Maintains accurate growth, feed, and production records

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or higher equivalent
  • At least 3 years relevant work experience with poultry production
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detailed knowledge in animal husbandry, welfare, legislation, poultry production, and occupational health and safety
