Senior Budget Analyst

This is a key financial support role where you will be working closely with stakeholders to deliver high-quality internal budget support.
About the Position- You will assist with the preparation and provision of advice on complex budgeting matters to Defence stakeholders.
- Your responsibilities will include researching and contributing to the development of Defence financial policies and procedures in compliance with relevant legislation and whole of government policies.
- You will evaluate and interrogate financial data to ensure the accuracy of financial information in reports and systems.
- You must have strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong initiative, sound practical judgement and resilience are essential.
- You will need strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to provide complex advice with limited direction, and communicate messages clearly and concisely.
- You should be able to produce quality work within short timeframes.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills are required.
- A solid understanding of financial and budgeting principles and the ability to undertake objective and systematic analysis to draw accurate conclusions based on evidence are necessary.
