Job Summary

The New South Wales State is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join our team. As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review statutory financial statements for the Department of Climate Change, Environment, the Energy and Water (DCCEEW)
  • Manage monthly financial data for Treasury and ensure all documentation is audit-ready
  • Collaborate with the business and shared service to produce high-quality financial reports
  • Develop and implement standard frameworks and processes to enhance financial reporting and compliance
  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment and achieve outcomes

Requirements

  • Degree Qualification in Accounting, Commerce or similar discipline and studying towards CPA/CA (or equivalent) full member status, or extensive equivalent experience
  • Strong financial skills in statutory financial reporting
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proven leadership qualities and ability to motivate and inspire others
  • Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
