As a key member of our Financial Accounting team, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of our annual financial statements and providing high-level strategic, tactical, and operational financial advice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of our agency's financial statements and governance requirements.
  • Provide high-quality, timely reporting and analysis to support decision-making, statutory obligations, and risk management.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including outsourcing providers.
  • Responsible for monthly and yearly accounting, including submissions for state consolidation purposes.
  • Provide accurate and timely responses to queries from the Total State Financial Reporting.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience maintaining a high-level understanding and knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, including current and future developments.
  • Experience with submissions for state consolidation purposes.
  • Professional accounting qualifications, such as CAANZ or CPAA, or equivalent.
  • Extensive skills and experience in financial accounting, including completion of statutory reporting, risk governance, fixed assets, and banking controls.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the NSW Public Sector.
