Dental Support Role

The Dental Support professional will collaborate closely with the dentist to deliver high-quality patient care while ensuring a comfortable and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical assistance to the dentist
  • Maintain a clean and organized clinical space
  • Collaborate with the Practice Manager to ensure efficient operations
  • Coordinate patient schedules and manage emergencies
  • Work with the reception team to schedule appointments and handle payments

Chairside Assistance:

  • Prepare instruments and materials for each patient
  • Assist the dentist during procedures
  • Handle instrument transfer, material mixing, and data entry
  • Develop radiographs as required

Surgery Organization:

  • Implement infection control measures and maintain surgery cleanliness
  • Manage waste disposal and equipment maintenance
  • Support other areas of the practice as needed

Sterile Supply Unit:

  • Prepare and sterilize instruments and handpieces
  • Maintain stock levels and process contaminated instruments

Requirements:

  • Dental knowledge and experience
  • Confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
  • Initiative, common sense, and basic computer skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in reception or interest in cross-training
  • Qualifications in radiography, sterilization, or first aid
  • Certificate III in dental assisting
