About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Data Science Professor and Director of the UNSW Data Science Hub. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development of foundational and applied research in Data Science, with a focus on Environmental Data Science, Physical Data Science, and Health Data Science.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the establishment and operation of the UNSW Data Science Hub
  • Develop and implement research strategies and plans to advance Data Science capabilities
  • Collaborate with academic and research staff to develop and deliver Data Science programs and projects
  • Provide leadership and guidance to research teams and staff
  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners and stakeholders
Requirements
  • PhD in a relevant field
  • Proven track record of research and academic leadership
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
