Senior Technical Operations Manager

We are seeking a Senior Technical Operations Manager to be based in a dynamic defence aerospace environment. This critical role is responsible for the maintenance and repairs, improvements and management of communications, surveillance and RADAR systems for defence aerospace platforms.
The successful applicant will work within a highly capable team that fosters the development of employees and drives technical and engineering excellence. The role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including the management of spares and repairable items, and managing a team of specialists to conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Investigating and resolving technical issues, and documenting findings
- Exercising technical authority and logistics authority to the level of delegation
- Conducting technical inspections of repairable items and new items
- Ensuring quality assurance of parts
- Assisting with warehouse, logistics and inventory management
- Delivering repair and maintenance support to mission-critical & controlled items
- Managing workshop planning, coordination and operations
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical issues
Requirements:
- Technical qualifications in Electronics or Electrical
- Excellent working knowledge of technical and engineering standards
- Highly experienced in the technical inspection of parts
- Leadership experience in a busy workshop facility
- Experience in making improvements to processes and procedures
- Knowledge of testing equipment and its application
- Experience with Six Sigma, LEAN or 5S continuous Improvement methods
- Eligibility for a Defence Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship)
