Operational Solutions Expert

At Optus, we're seeking an experienced Operational Solutions Expert to join our team. As a key member of our EB Delivery team, you'll be responsible for delivering high-level technical advice and expertise to support, identify, and provide technical solutions and maintain architectural integrity in support of our customers' accounts and the Optus account team.

You'll develop and review detailed customer technical designs, bills of materials, and client proposals, both in response to ongoing operational in-contract needs and in major project Change Request scenarios. Your expertise will be essential in developing innovative technical solutions to address customer business requirements, coordinating all inputs to the architectural design, and supporting the design through its lifecycle.

As an Operational Solutions Expert, you'll be accountable for focusing on ICT and Data Networking, including areas such as Networks, Data Centre, Cloud, Collaboration, and Security across technical designs, costing, and risk assessment. You'll also be responsible for providing technical thought leadership and mentoring to the Optus delivery team for new solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Architectural design and documentation of converged Network environments as a high-level Design Authority
  • Delivering high-level technical advice and expertise to support, identify, and provide new technical solutions and maintain architectural integrity in support of the account and the Optus account team
  • Providing technical thought leadership and mentoring to the Optus delivery team for new solutions
  • Improving the partnership between Optus Business and the broader Optus community
  • Improving the way people and process come together to deliver more seamlessly to our customers
  • Analyzing prospective and current customer requirements and developing a profitable and suitable solution to meet customer needs
  • Responsibility for the design of complex business solutions that integrate all data, voice, video communications, and systems components into an effective network
  • Providing Technical and Infrastructure Design for Managed Services solutions, including cost and risk assessment
  • Being highly proactive with sales engagement for the development of best value for money and best of breed solutions
  • Pro-active identification of cross-sell and up-sell opportunities
  • Performing customer-focused enterprise technology presentations from 'technical' to CIO level
  • Embedding a consultative approach within Sales and Delivery

Requirements include:

  • At least 3 years of pre-sales/embedded architect experience at senior IT/executive level
  • Experience in developing detailed customer technical designs, bills of materials, and client proposals, both in response to ongoing operational in-contract needs and in major project Change Request scenarios
  • Experience in providing high-level technical advice and expertise to support, identify, and maintain architectural integrity of a deployed customer ICT environment
  • Experience in a Managed Solutions environment, including maintaining large corporate networks
  • Expertise in managing diverse technical solutions
  • Detailed understanding of one or more of the following technology areas: Data Networks, Security, Server and Storage technologies, Network toolsets, and reporting platforms
  • Ability to question current processes and status quo and devise improvements
