About the Role


Babcock International Group is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Procurement Specialist to join its team in supporting a Defence contract. As a key member of the procurement team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services from suppliers.



The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation and influencing skills, with experience in managing supplier relationships and inventory-related activities. You will be responsible for preparing and issuing purchase orders through ERP systems, monitoring supplier performance against contractual obligations, and implementing effective processes to minimise risks related to quality, on-time delivery, and cost.



This role involves reviewing and updating processes to align with continuous improvement strategies, with a focus on enhancing the efficiency of inventory and purchasing processes. You will contribute to the overall success of Babcock's operations by leveraging your expertise in supply chain management and logistics.



Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain and/or Logistics
  • Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office software (Word, Excel, etc.) and ERP systems
  • Negotiation and influencing skills to achieve desired business outcomes
  • Experience with MILIS in Defence Inventory Management, Governance, and Stocktaking
  • Australian Citizen with a current Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain)
