Primary Care Physician

We are seeking a skilled General Practitioner to join our healthcare team.

The successful candidate will provide essential medical care and support to ADF members, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve the shared purpose of maintaining the health and wellbeing of Defence personnel.

This role is ideal for an experienced medical professional with solid foundations in primary care, who is passionate about providing high-quality medical services and working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver exceptional patient care.

The General Practitioner will be responsible for delivering primary medical care to patients in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and Defence policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will form part of a dynamic team working toward the shared goal of achieving and maintaining the health and wellbeing of Defence members.

The role involves assessing Defence personnel for fitness for duty, providing medical technical advice to senior leaders, and working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to support the health and wellbeing of Defence members.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

You will also need to meet the following requirements:

• Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner, General in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) OR, Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) OR Vocational Registration.
• Minimum of 2 years full-time post graduate general practitioner experience in a general practice setting within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent).
• Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.

Please note that you must be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role.

This is a part-time position with standard hours of operation from 0700-1630 Monday to Friday. You will be working 4pm-8pm Tuesday & Thursday.

This role requires:

• A current and unrestricted medical registration in Australia.
• A minimum of 2 years' experience in a general practice setting.
• Recent participation in CPD activities.
• Current CPR certification.
