Despatch Operations Coordinator

You will be responsible for overseeing all despatch operations at a Geelong Wire Mill and coordinating interstate warehousing and logistics functions.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and motivate the despatch team through expertise and action, ensuring timely deliveries and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and safety standards.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction.
- Conduct audits, stocktakes, and training on warehouse procedures.
- Coordinate duties and activities of crew members to implement despatch plans in adherence to schedules.
- Involved in developing supply agreements, personnel training, reviewing warehouse layouts, providing equipment, managing safety standards, etc.
- Perform load checks and auditing loads and load restraint.
- A proven leader experienced in transport, distribution, or logistics, with experience and/or knowledge of the transport industry or warehousing.
- Understanding of capacity planning, schedule adherence, and DIFOT management.
- Advanced stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills.
- High focus on team development, engagement, and involvement.
- Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility, including load restraint, mass, and fatigue management, etc.
- Understanding of Supply Chain Management concepts.
- Experience in SAP.
- Effective influencing and conflict resolution skills.
