Our institution is seeking a highly skilled Research Associate to contribute to our research team in plant pathogen interactions and disease resistance genes.

About the role

We are looking for an individual with a strong background in plant genomics, molecular biology, or a related field. The successful candidate will have excellent laboratory skills, including molecular experiments, data analysis, and scientific writing.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct research on plant pathogen interactions and identification of disease resistance genes with a focus on crop plants
  • Plan and execute research projects, perform molecular experiments, analyse data, and prepare scientific publications

Requirements

  • PhD in plant genomics, plant molecular biology, plant physiology, plant pathogen interactions, or a relevant combination of experience and training
  • Advanced skills in molecular biology
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including extensive experience in writing scientific manuscripts and reports
  • Proficiency in plant genomics and/or molecular plant breeding
  • Experience with trait mapping, molecular marker development, and high-throughput genotyping
