About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Lifestyle Assistant to support residents in participating in activities that cater to their individual needs and care plans.

As part of a close-knit team, your focus will be on:

  • Collaborating with residents to identify strategies and opportunities that promote healthy lifestyle practices and engagement.
  • Organizing activities for individuals living with dementia, focusing on maintaining independence and promoting healthy lifestyle practices.
  • Assessing residents' leisure and health needs, using appropriate methods and under the guidance of an experienced worker.
  • Collecting and reviewing relevant information to establish residents' needs, based on leisure and recreation assessments.
  • Developing strategies to address challenging behavior and maximize resident participation in activities, evaluating the effectiveness of these strategies.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role in an Aged Care setting.
  • Certificate III in Leisure and Health or equivalent.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Previous experience working in an Aged Care facility.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently, promoting a positive lifestyle environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Well-developed prioritization and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
