As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of grain throughout the harvest season.

About the Role

This is a 6-month fixed term position that involves providing guidance to site staff on current quality standards and issues regarding quality systems. You will also be responsible for coordinating and delivering grain quality training for our staff to ensure compliance with our grain quality practices.

Your tasks will include detecting contaminated commodities, ensuring the required documentation and processes are followed, guiding growers on current quality standards, and effectively controlling grain insects and other pests; detecting and managing chemical residues and other contaminants; segregating, handling, and testing GM and non-GM grains.

  • Provide expertise on grain quality standards and best practices to site staff.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs to ensure staff compliance with grain quality protocols.
  • Identify and mitigate potential quality risks associated with grain handling and storage.
  • Collaborate with growers to ensure their understanding of current quality standards.
  • Implement effective pest control measures and detect chemical residues and other contaminants.
Key Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Previous experience in grain sampling combined with the ability to complete the CBH Grain Sampling certificate.
  • Excellent planning and communication skills.
  • Able to manage competing priorities and operate Microsoft Office products.
