Job Summary:

The Residential Service Assistant plays a crucial role in delivering person-focused quality care, collaborating with individuals and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to achieve exceptional outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with individuals and the healthcare team to deliver person-centered care.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, maintaining a respectful and caring demeanor at all times.
  • Develop and work within a comprehensive plan of care, prioritizing individual needs and preferences.
  • Assist and interact with residents in independent or low-care living environments, promoting dignity and autonomy.
  • Communicate effectively using information technology, written, and verbal communication skills, ensuring seamless collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Manage emotional responses professionally, interacting positively with others to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Participate in ongoing personal development, enhancing competence and skills to meet evolving service needs.
Requirements:
  • Current Health Service Assistant Certificate III in Aged Care - CHC30208, CHC30102, or equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrated understanding of delegation and ability to contribute to developing and working within a comprehensive plan of care.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with evidence of successful conflict resolution and negotiation.
  • Ability to identify and address potential conflict situations proactively, promoting a safe and respectful work environment.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development, commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills.
Selection Criteria:
  • Current Health Service Assistant Certificate III in Aged Care qualification.
  • Demonstrated understanding of delegation and ability to contribute to developing and working within a comprehensive plan of care.
  • Ability to assist and work collaboratively with a diverse range of people, including residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
