Job Opportunity: Procurement Expert

We are seeking a skilled and experienced procurement expert to join our team in providing support for procurement activities.

The successful candidate will work closely with the purchasing coordinator to ensure that all procurement activities comply with relevant policies, procedures, and terms of agreement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and evaluate procurement activities to ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing coordinator to identify cost-saving initiatives and implement effective solutions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders through excellent communication skills.
  • Provide guidance and advice on procurement matters to staff members.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrated expertise in purchasing, tendering, contract management, and procurement practices.
  • High level of IT literacy and experience with supply chain/purchasing or accounting systems.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to problem-solve and analyze situations.
  • Solid understanding of workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements and regulations as they relate to purchasing and procurement.
  • Able to apply equal employment opportunity (EEO), WHS, and ethical practice principles at all times.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Familiarity with public sector procurement processes.
  • Experience in applying the Local Government Act 1993 and Local Government Regulations related to tendering.
  • Proficiency in Authority Local Government Software.
