This is a unique role that requires collaborating with individuals who face challenges participating in their community.
Role OverviewThe Psychosocial Support Specialist will:
- Enhance an individual's ability to coordinate and implement supports within their National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funding packages.
- Support engagement with mainstream, formal, and informal services.
- Develop capacity and resilience in their network.
Key responsibilities include:
- Strengthening an individual's coordination and implementation of NDIS supports.
- Supporting engagement with available services and resources.
- Developing capacity and resilience in the individual's network.
This role involves working closely with clients, their families, and community agencies to achieve desired outcomes. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to meet deadlines in a high-demand environment.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of a Cert IV in a Community Services related discipline.
- Experience in a human services environment, particularly experience in understanding service delivery and its impact on clients with complex mental health needs.
- Ability to work effectively with clients, their families, community agencies, and other professionals.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Current Drivers License.
