Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Locomotive Maintenance Engineer to join our team at UGL in Nebo, Queensland. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for performing complex mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting on locomotives and rolling stock.

This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced engineers seeking a permanent role in a dynamic and technically challenging environment. You will work closely with our Fleet Supervisor to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our locomotives and rolling stock.

Main Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on locomotives and rolling stock">
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, ensuring safety and efficiency">
  • Verify the integrity of the rolling stock and perform emergency response duties when needed">
  • Conduct inbound and outbound testing procedures">
  • Requisition materials and components for maintenance activities">
  • Report future maintenance work and potential improvements">
  • Assist the Fleet Supervisor with any additional tasks as required">

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • ">
  • Mechanical Trade qualifications and hands-on experience in a related field">
  • A proven ability to resolve complex mechanical, warranty, and maintenance issues">
  • Previous experience working with diesel engines, particularly in a rail or heavy machinery environment">
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and Bill of Materials (BOM) lists">
  • Capable of working independently, managing time effectively, and prioritizing multiple tasks">
  • Proficient in using MS Word, Excel, and email">

Relocation and FIFO/DIDO Options:

We offer camp accommodation and meals, however costs to get to and from would be at your own expense. The two options are – (DIDO) drive-in drive-out and FIFO (Fly-In Fly-Out), accommodation and meals will be provided on-site during your roster.
