Demanding Role for a Service Technician

This position is a fantastic opportunity for skilled Service Technicians to join UGL’s Locomotive Maintenance Facility in Nebo. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing complex mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting on locomotives and rolling stock.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled maintenance on locomotives and rolling stock.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, ensuring safety and efficiency.
  • Verify the integrity of the rolling stock and perform emergency response duties when needed.
  • Conduct inbound and outbound testing procedures.
  • Requisition materials and components for maintenance activities.
  • Report future maintenance work and potential improvements.
  • Assist the Fleet Supervisor with any additional tasks as required.

About You:

  • Mechanical Trade qualified, with hands-on experience in a related field.
  • Proven ability to resolve complex mechanical, warranty, and maintenance issues.
  • Previous experience working with diesel engines, particularly in a rail or heavy machinery environment.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and Bill of Materials (BOM) lists.
  • Capable of working independently, managing time effectively, and prioritizing multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in using MS Word, Excel, and email.

Relocation and FIFO/DIDO Options:

UGL offers camp accommodation and meals, however costs to get to and from would be at your own expense. The two options are – (DIDO) drive-in drive-out and FIFO (Fly-In Fly-Out), accommodation and meals will be provided on-site during your roster.
