Key Roles and Responsibilities

The position of Transport Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing daily transport operations for a leading supermarket chain based in Melbourne.

This dynamic position is responsible for managing fleet allocations, route planning, and dispatching metropolitan deliveries to ensure smooth operations on shift.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing daily operations to optimize truck and driver utilization
  • Performing data entry and various administrative tasks
  • Ensuring accurate and timely completion of daily reports
  • Liaising with customers to build strong relationships
  • Monitoring driver/transport compliance and safety requirements
  • Participating in Safety Standards and COR initiatives

Leadership experience within the supply chain is highly regarded, along with intermediate to advanced computer skills, particularly with TMS experience being a strong advantage.

A strong geographical knowledge of the Melbourne metro area, excellent organizational skills, and effective written and verbal communication skills are essential in this role.

The successful candidate will be required to meet employment criteria, including a criminal history check, full medical, drug, and alcohol test.
