Business Risk Analyst Job Description

Anton Murray Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Business Risk Analyst to join our team in Melbourne. As a Business Risk Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of regulatory change projects and working collaboratively with the business and second-line teams to identify and mitigate risks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough analysis of existing operational processes to identify areas for improvement and deploy risk controls and mitigants.
  • Engage with diverse stakeholders, including the Executive Team, Senior Leadership Team, and Delivery Teams, to understand business needs and advise on future state.
  • Gather and process data to identify process performance areas and conduct gap analysis.
  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and oversee the implementation of revised company processes and workflows.
  • Monitor the efficiency of updated workflows and partner with Change Managers and Training Managers to assist with the development and delivery of change.
Requirements:
  • 5-7 years of experience in risk management within Australia's financial services / APRA-regulated entities, including business partnering roles.
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Law, Finance, Risk, or related field.
  • Proven experience in process improvement and strong experience working on regulatory compliance-driven projects.
  • Excellent commercial acumen and the ability to think strategically to identify and mitigate risks and opportunities.
  • Strong conceptual, financial, analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
  • Data Analytics skills, including Tableau and PowerBI.
  • Exposure to first-line/second-line/operational roles in Asset Servicing/Fund Administration/Capital Markets/Cash Payments operations.
  • Good knowledge of the latest industry trends and regulatory changes.
