Occupational Therapist for Children

Alexandra District Health is seeking a skilled Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join its multidisciplinary Primary Health Team.
The successful candidate will work with children between the ages of 1-16, as well as their families and carers, using a family-centred approach to support clients with mild to moderate developmental delays and social emotional challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Completing comprehensive assessments and evaluations of children\u2019s sensory, motor and cognitive skills.
- Developing meaningful goals with families and carers to support a child\u2019s independence with their Activities of Daily Living.
- Developing individualised treatment plans to support a child\u2019s sensory, motor and cognitive skill.
- Completion of comprehensive reports to support funding applications and diagnostic assessments.
- Implementation of evidence-based practices within therapy sessions.
- Closing collaboration with families, caregivers and educational settings.
- Monitoring and documenting progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes for the child and family.
- Provision of education and training to families, educational facilities to support consistency and carry over of therapeutic strategies within home and community environments.
You will be well supported within a close-knit team of allied health professionals, as well as via external clinical supervision and education opportunities.
The successful candidate will be client-focused, demonstrate effective interpersonal and written communication skills, be able to work autonomously and manage a busy workload, and have the ability to function as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team.
