The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, a collaborative partnership between John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia, has been selected to deliver South Australia's biggest-ever road infrastructure project.

This historic project forms the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, creating a continuous 78 km, non-stop, traffic light-free motorway, which will leave a lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.

The T2D Project involves constructing two separate tunnels – the Southern Tunnels and the Northern Tunnels connected by an open motorway, with a combined total distance of 10.5km, opening to traffic in 2031.

The T2D project comprises tunnels, surface works including road and bridge construction in addition to services buildings and complex mechanical and electrical infrastructure.

The T2D Alliance is committed to providing opportunities for local people, Aboriginal workers, apprentices, trainees and job seekers who are long-term unemployed and offers individuals an incredible opportunity to be part of an iconic project.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of surface and mobile plant across multiple civil work fronts.

The successful candidate will provide expert technical input into mobile plant capabilities, performance and optimisation, lead, mentor and manage plant team members throughout the project.

The Plant Manager will develop and implement plant allocation strategies to meet project requirements, monitor utilisation, productivity and maintenance schedules to ensure efficiency and reliability.

They will drive compliance with safety, environmental and quality standards, liaise with construction managers, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure smooth integration of plant resources.

The Plant Manager will also manage budgets, reporting and plant performance metrics.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a Plant Manager or Senior Plant Operations role within major civil or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong technical understanding of mobile plant operations, maintenance and performance optimisation.
  • Solid knowledge of bulk earthworks, drainage, roads and structural civil works.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to build capability and foster collaboration.
  • High-level planning, scheduling and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality and environmental standards.
  • Relevant qualifications in Civil Construction, Engineering or Plant Operations (desired).
