Job Overview:

The Integration and Transverse Engineering Manager is a critical leadership role in Defence Australia's Hunter Class Frigate project.

This position provides technical assurance of various engineering design specialties, encompassing complex System-of-Systems integration, Ship Vulnerability, Survivability, Maritime Aviation, and Physical Security.

A senior engineer with a strong background in Systems Engineering, Naval Architecture, or Mechanical Engineering will be responsible for system integration in the acquisition or sustainment of maritime or similarly complex systems.

About the Role:

You will lead a multi-discipline team, collaborating with specialists and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration across diverse engineering design specialties.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical assurance of various whole of ship engineering design specialties
  • Leading a multi-discipline team and collaborating with specialists and stakeholders
  • Engaging with complex subjects at both a detailed technical level and presenting summary positions
  • Mentoring and developing junior staff

Our Ideal Candidate:

We are seeking an experienced leader who can expand their existing engineering skills and experience into the uniquely challenging Transverse Domain.

A strong background in either Systems Engineering, Naval Architecture, or Mechanical Engineering, with substantial experience of system integration in the acquisition or sustainment of maritime or similarly complex systems, is essential.

As a leader, you should be comfortable working in environments with limited certainty and direction, providing informed advice within the project's context and constraints.
