Senior Mental Health Professional

This role is part of a comprehensive wellbeing initiative, providing support for students with mild to moderate mental health concerns. The Senior Mental Health Professional will work collaboratively with schools' student support teams to enhance the wellbeing and mental health support available to students.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Conducting individual and group counselling and therapeutic interventions with students, parents, and families to address personal or relationship concerns.
  • Administering psycho-educational assessments of students with learning and/or adjustment difficulties, including evaluations of cognitive, academic, behavioural, emotional, social, and adaptive functioning.
  • Coordinating or assisting in the implementation of professional training programs for teachers, parents, schools, and other professionals.
  • Supporting school communities in responding to critical incidents and emergencies as part of the school response team.

To be successful in this role, you will require a deep understanding of child development, learning theory, and research-based practices that promote positive student outcomes.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, enabling effective collaboration with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals.
