About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Incident Management Specialist to join our team at Oracle. As a Senior Principal Cloud Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the high availability of our cloud infrastructure and minimizing the impact of customer-impacting events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and resolve high-visibility incidents within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
  • Orchestrate global teams and facilitate conference calls to ensure timely resolution
  • Drive initiatives to proactively minimize future incidents or prevent them altogether
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve incident management processes
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field
  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • Extensive experience with major incident management in a cloud-based environment
  • Experience with modern object-oriented programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++
  • Proven track record of shipping large complex scalable systems/applications in an agile environment
  • Experience with professional software engineering best practices

  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership, project planning, communication, and execution skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple challenging priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels
  • Confidence to drive and lead large conference calls
  • Experience with distributed service-oriented architectures
