About this role

This is a key position within our team, focusing on information management and analysis. The successful applicant will work closely with cross-agency colleagues to contribute to promoting family safety in Victoria.

The role involves receiving training on family violence, information management, and systems. You will be working in a close-knit team responding to requests for information about perpetrators or alleged perpetrators from the Orange Door.

Consolidated data from four agencies - Victoria Police, Court Services Victoria, Corrections Victoria, and the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing - will be used to compile critical information into detailed reports. These reports help frontline workers assess and manage risk to vulnerable children and families.

Your duties will include identifying and extracting relevant information from Victoria Police databases, summarizing information to support risk assessment and management of family violence conducted by the Orange Door.

You will interpret and operate within legislation related to the Information Sharing Schemes, advise on data quality, accuracy, and relevance, and write professional information releases on behalf of Victoria Police.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Acknowledge and provide advice on data within Victoria Police systems, summarizing information to support risk assessment and management of family violence.
  • Interpret and operate within legislation related to the Information Sharing Schemes.
  • Advise on the quality, accuracy, and relevance of data, including perpetrator identities within Victoria Police databases.
