Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Deliver high-quality geotechnical services and lead technical teams in complex projects. As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers and geologists on national and international projects.
  • Contribute to project delivery by identifying and managing risks, ensuring technical outputs meet the highest standards.
  • Undertake complex geotechnical analyses for deep excavations, slope stability, foundations, retaining walls, and pavement designs.
  • Interpret and analyse data to develop practical and commercial solutions.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients through pursuit, tendering, and delivery phases.
  • Provide technical mentoring to junior team members to build their skills and ensure team success.
Qualifications and Skills
  • A degree in geotechnical, geological, or civil engineering, with postgraduate qualifications in geotechnical engineering and/or engineering geology advantageous.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in geotechnical consulting, including fieldwork data gathering and site investigation reporting.
  • Strong technical leadership, mentoring, and advice capabilities, with ability to prioritise, coordinate, and lead teams performing field investigation and analytical design work.
  • Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software (AS1726-2017) and numerical modelling software (Plaxis 2D/3D and Abaqus).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on client service, people relationships, and networking.
  • Strong commitment to Health and Safety in geotechnical projects and alignment with HSE procedures.
  • Project management skills appropriate for large or sophisticated projects, with good judgement and decisiveness.
  • Ability to travel and work on remote sites, with a valid manual driver's license.
