Successful completion of 26 weeks of sea time and passing the oral assessment is necessary to graduate from the CSL Cadetship.
Cadet Program Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must be enrolled in a Bachelor of Applied Science in Marine Engineering at the Australian Maritime College, University of Tasmania.
Proof of enrollment in the ETO specific units: Marine High Voltage, Shipboard Electronics, and Shipboard Operational Experience (ETO) must be provided.
Aspirations to become an Electro-Technical Officer are essential.
Year 12 or University academic results/transcript must be included as part of the application process.
Completion of Pre-Sea training prior to joining the program is mandatory.
Eligibility to obtain a Maritime Safety Identification Card is also required.
Strong communication skills, ability to work at sea for extended periods (6-12 weeks), self-motivation, maturity, and responsibility are key attributes for success in this role.
Desirable characteristics include extracurricular activities and experiences.
