We are seeking an experienced Marine Biogeochemist to contribute to the development of regulatory frameworks that support the growth of Australian aquaculture.

The successful candidate will work on a project focused on Integrated Multitrophic Aquaculture (IMTA) and be responsible for delivering technical outcomes that underpin biogeochemical models for IMTA.

\

Key responsibilities include measuring biogeochemical parameters in marine environmental samples, providing high-level technical support, and collaborating with colleagues to drive scientific quality and excellence.

Requirements

  • A post-graduate degree in Science with a major in biology, oceanography, marine/biochemistry, or related field is required.\
  • A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field of science specialising in biological oceanography, marine chemistry, aquatic biogeochemistry, marine ecology, or marine science with relevant analytical experience is desirable.\

Working Conditions

  • The position is based out of SARDI's West Beach facility and the Lincoln Marine Science Centre.\
  • Regular travel between sites, including offshore aquaculture leases in the Port Lincoln region, may be required.\
  • Out-of-hours work and interstate travel may also be necessary.\
