Medical Care Professional Role

This position entails providing primary medical care to individuals in accordance with professional standards and legislation.


Main Responsibilities
  • To deliver high-quality medical services ensuring patients' health and wellbeing are maintained.
  • To be part of a multidisciplinary team working towards the shared objective of achieving and maintaining patients' health and wellbeing.
  • To assess individuals for fitness for duty and provide care that supports their health and wellbeing pre and post deployments.
  • To offer medical advice to senior healthcare professionals and commanders of units.

Requirements
  • Highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
  • Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner, General in Australia with the relevant authority.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) OR Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) OR Vocational Registration.
  • A minimum of 2 years full-time postgraduate general practitioner experience in a general practice setting within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent).
  • Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with the relevant authority.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.
