Job Overview:
The Associate Pipeline Engineer utilizes existing Pipeline (Eng) procedures to solve routine or standard problems.
They receive instruction, guidance, and direction from others within the team. They will leverage their conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures related to Pipeline (Eng) and Engineering.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- 0-3 years of experience in oil and gas
- Learning the content and application of standards, codes, and guidelines as applicable
- Learning design techniques and analysis methods
- Preferably Registered Engineer in Training (EIT)
- Eager to learn
- Working knowledge of English, both oral and written
- HSE, TQM, and cost-conscious
- Flexible and ensuring proper hand-over
- Accredited engineering degree as may be required by specific regions
- Familiar with the use of codes and standards
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed design engineering, analysis, and calculations on basic engineering tasks
- Apply knowledge and skills to complete routine assignments under close supervision and mentoring
- Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses including design reports and procedures
- Organize own work to meet deadlines set by others
- Clearly communicate information, asking questions, and checking for understanding
- Gain an understanding of the project scope of work, specifications, schedule, and all inter-discipline requirements
- Review vendor data with guidance from colleagues
- Develop awareness of costs related to own work
- Assist with the preparation of Special Piping Items and required datasheets
- Assist with the preparation of Piping Material and Valve specification
- Assist with simple stress analysis using pipe Stress Analysis software
- Assist with design calculations like pipe wall thickness, reinforcement pad, trunnion support, etc.
- Review and assist with checking the vendor documentation
Reports to: Project Lead Engineer, Functional Supervising Department Manager, Liaise With Engineers, Design Supervisors, and Designers
