About the Role

Gallagher Bassett is seeking a skilled Return to Work (RTW) Specialist to join our Workers Compensation team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for identifying and delivering recovery and RTW outcomes for complex psychological claims.

As a leader in our team, you will use your expertise to identify and triage claims that are at risk of exceeding expected return to work timeframes. You will also work closely with case managers to identify barriers in returning to work and drive a Return-to-Work Focus with Injured Workers and Employers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership as a key subject matter expert within the team relating to recovery and RTW.
  • Manage a small portfolio of complex high-risk injury claims, supporting injured workers and employers with their recovery, RTW, and return to health.
  • Support Senior Case Managers with regular case conferencing.
  • Identify biopsychosocial risk factors leading to strategic recovery while achieving RTW goals.
  • Identify claims at risk of developing secondary psychological injuries and implement appropriate strategic measures to support injured workers back to full functional capacity.
  • Undertake RTW visits and treater case conferences (both virtually and in person) when required to support recovery and RTW outcomes.
  • Apply a person-centered management approach focusing on injured workers' needs, setting recovery goals, and supporting them to achieve these.

About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focussed RTW Expert with:

  • Workers Compensation scheme Claims Management experience or significant RTW knowledge and experience.
  • Knowledge of physical and/or Mental Injury or general Personal Injury Management concepts relating to Victoria's Workers Compensation Scheme.
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience.
  • Time management, administrative, and organisational skills.
  • Experience in leading people, teams, or key initiatives, as well as coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Tertiary qualification in an appropriate discipline and/or demonstrated experience in a similar role is also ideal.
