Restructuring Lawyer Opportunity

We are seeking a talented and experienced restructuring lawyer to join our team in Sydney. As a member of our restructuring & bankruptcy team, you will play a critical role in advising clients on complex domestic and cross-border matters.

Our team has a deep understanding of the full spectrum of financial instruments, from leveraged finance solutions to high yield debt, real estate finance, project finance, structured finance, derivatives, and securitizations. We deliver practical, innovative, and bespoke solutions to our clients' challenges using the latest restructuring tools and practice.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of post-qualification experience and a strong academic record. You will possess excellent drafting and analytic skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other departments. Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising clients on complex restructuring matters, including liability management exercises, out-of-court and in-court restructurings, new money capital raises, exchange offers and debt exchanges.
  • Assisting with acquisitions of distressed companies and assets, equity-linked transactions, insolvencies, rescue financings, and litigation risk assessments and mitigation.
  • Working closely with other departments, including litigation, financial regulation, tax, corporate and M&A, employment, and pensions.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Strong academic record.
  • Excellent drafting and analytic skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively with other departments.
  • Sound judgement and core values, able to establish a high level of credibility.
