Medical Office Support Role

This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the efficient operation of our medical office.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome patients and manage front-desk duties with professionalism and empathy
  • Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries in a timely and sensitive manner
  • Schedule appointments and determine examination requirements
  • Communicate preparation instructions, procedure costs, and billing information clearly to patients
  • Register patients, process paperwork, and handle billing and payment transactions
  • Ensure accurate and timely dispatch of reports
  • Support claims batching for Medicare and Veterans Affairs
  • Perform other administrative tasks as directed by management
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a medical reception or healthcare administration role
  • Familiarity with patient booking systems (RIS experience advantageous)
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, particularly in imaging
  • High level of professionalism, interpersonal communication skills, and empathy
  • Excellent time management, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities
  • Accuracy in data entry and proficiency in Microsoft Office and practice software
  • Cash handling and EFTPOS experience
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Flexibility to work across multiple sites if required
