The Role: Electrical Engineering Manager

As the Electrical Engineering Manager within Above Water Systems, you will guide a vibrant team of Electrical Engineers and Technicians/Draftspersons, offering both resource and technical leadership for Electrical Engineering initiatives and AWS programs. Working closely with the Head of Discipline - Electrical Engineering, your role is essential in ensuring excellence in engineering operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and nurture engineering personnel, ensuring alignment with business objectives and professional growth pathways.
  • Provide leadership within AWS, offering guidance on bids, projects, in-service capabilities, and engineering strategies.
  • Hold Level 2 Engineering Authority in Electrical Engineering, conducting engineering reviews and approvals.
  • Coordinate various requirements promptly across multiple concurrent projects and bidding activities.
  • Engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders, estimating project costs, timelines, and resources during competitive tenders.

Your Skills:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering and/or a Master's degree. Chartered Professional Engineer (EA) status is preferred.
  • Extensive experience in Electrical Engineering, particularly with Naval or Maritime Platforms.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with experience in stakeholder management.
  • Proven ability for continuous improvement and strategic foresight.
  • Capacity to empower and unify teams around clear objectives, acting as a coach and servant leader.
