At Aurizon, we are seeking a skilled Locomotive Driver to join our team at our Vic Dock depot in Melbourne. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating locomotives, examining and certifying trains, and working in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards.

About the role:

  • Operate locomotives on mainline, shunting, and marshalling duties.
  • Examine and certify trains as ready for departure.
  • Work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards and procedures.
  • Maintain a high level of on-time running.
  • Prepare and conduct brake testing on locomotives.
  • Provide high-quality customer service to enable Aurizon to meet its business objectives.

About you:

  • Strong commitment to safety and Aurizon's safety strategy.
  • Must be available to work a 24/7 shift roster.
  • Experience in Victoria Safe Working systems an advantage.
  • Extensive freight and/or heavy haulage locomotive driving experience.
  • A Certificate IV in Rail Operations (or equivalent).
  • Current unrestricted driver's licence.
