At Programmed, we specialize in delivering recruitment solutions for various industries, including government and professional services. We are currently working with the Western Australian Electoral Commission to provide a large workforce for the upcoming state election.
The roles we are recruiting for include Issuing Officer, Student Electoral Officer, Voter Information Officer, General Assistant, Ballot Box Guard, and Queue Controller. These positions play a vital role in ensuring the smooth conduct of the election process.
As an Issuing Officer, you will be responsible for issuing ballot papers to electors on polling day, rotating as a ballot box guard and queue controller, and assisting with the count after 6 pm. You will work on March 8th, from 7 am to 9 pm, and receive Level 1.1 pay.
The Student Electoral Officer will assist in polling place duties performed by Officers, working on March 8th from 7 am to 6 pm, and receiving Level 1.1 pay. This is a great opportunity for Year 11 or 12 students to gain experience and contribute to the electoral process.
The Voter Information Officer will engage centrally through the Electoral Ambassador program, working on February 24th through March 8th, and receiving Level 1.1 pay. They may be assigned to polling places with high concentrations of culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) or indigenous electors, assisting with language, literacy, or other requirements.
The General Assistant will support larger polling places, assisting with setup and pack-up, working on March 7th-8th, and receiving Level 1.1 pay. They may also assist with counting and packing up after 5:30 pm on March 8th.
The Ballot Box Guard will ensure the correct ballot box papers are put into the boxes, rotating as an Issuing Officer and Queue Controller, and assisting with the count after 6 pm on March 8th. They will work from 7 am to 9 pm and receive Level 1.1 pay.
The Queue Controller will manage the queue into the polling place, directing electors as needed, rotating as an Issuing Officer and Ballot Box Guard, and assisting with the count after 6 pm on March 8th. They will work from 7 am to 9 pm and receive Level 1.1 pay.
**Estimated salary: $25-$35 per hour**
